Alicia Mignone

Ms. Mignone graduated in Chemical Sciences (five-year course) at the National Buenos Aires University in Argentina in 1969.
During her professional career, she dealt with International Multilateral cooperation projects in Europe, Africa, Central Asia, and Middle East. Managed research activities in Argentina and at European level, represented Italy in numerous international bodies, participated in the G8/G7 process and as chair/lecturer in International Workshops and Conferences.

She worked as Senior Scientist in ENEA, the Italian National Agency for New technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (1978-2011) with secondments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1997-2005) and at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (2007-2011).
She was Scientific Counsellor and Energy Advisor to the Permanent Delegation of Italy to OECD in Paris (1997- 2005).

Team Leader in the European Commission Centers of Excellence projects on Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Risks (2009-2015)
She has sound experience as evaluator: EUROSTARS project applications; EUREKA Initiative and EC Framework Research Programs. Member of IEA International Teams for In-depth review of the Energy Policies of Germany, Spain, and France.
Participated as Judge in the 2019 and 2020 editions of the Mission Innovation Championships Program.

She chaired the Committee on Energy Research and Technology of the International Energy Agency (2014- 2019) and was Alternate Governing Board representative (2013-2018).
She was the Italian Delegate for International Cooperation in the 7th European Framework Program (2007-2013) and was Invited to Informal Experts’ discussion for the EU External Energy Policy and Consultation process for Energy Research Infrastructures.
At present, she collaborates with the Italian Association of Energy Economists, the Universities Network for Children in Armed Conflict (UNETCHAC) and writes articles in specialized magazines on clean technologies for the energy transition.
She speaks fluently English, Italian, French, and Spanish.
