UNETCHAC regularly organizes training courses aimed at analizing, with a multi-disciplinary approach, issues relating to the protection of children in armed conflict and post-conflict situations, and international justice. These advanced courses offer the possibility of an academic and professional training on the subject of International Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law, and International Criminal Law.

Mediation and the Protection of Children in Armed Conflict – Intensive Advanced Course

Children are among the most affected yet overlooked in armed conflicts. This intensive advanced course, organized by the Universities Network for Children in Armed Conflict, explores how mediation can safeguard children’s rights and integrate child protection into peace processes. Through expert lectures, case studies, workshops, and simulations, participants will gain legal, operational, and negotiation tools to promote child-sensitive conflict resolution. The course is designed for mediators, child protection professionals, humanitarian workers, legal experts, and policymakers committed to building sustainable and inclusive peace.

Cultural Heritage and Children in Armed Conflict: Protection, Memory, and Peacebuilding – Intensive Advanced Course

This advanced course explores the critical intersection between cultural heritage and child protection in conflict and post-conflict contexts. 5-Day Course on IHL and Children in Armed Conflict

📅 8–12 December 2025

▪ Sanremo Institute of International Humanitarian Law

The Universities Network for Children in Armed Conflict (UNETCHAC) is organizing a 5-day training course on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and the protection of children in armed conflict. Targeted at military personnel, humanitarian workers, policymakers, and NGO staff, the course combines theoretical sessions and practical exercises to deepen understanding of legal frameworks, child protection during military operations, recruitment prevention, detention, displacement, and accountability mechanisms. Participants will engage in case studies, simulations, and tabletop exercises to build skills for protecting children affected by war.
